1. Who we are

RC247 is a community super-app for the Redemption City community, operated by REDCITIX SERVICES LIMITED ("RC247", "we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use the RC247 app and website. We act as a data controller under the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023.

2. What we collect

We collect only what we need to provide our services:

Account information — your name, phone number, email address, and delivery/home address in Redemption City.
Identity information — for verification, we process your NIN or BVN through secure infrastructure (see KYC below).
Transaction information — wallet top-ups, bill payments, orders, ride and delivery records, and church giving you choose to make through the app.
Location information — your precise location, only when you use location-based features and only with your permission (see Location data below).
Device and usage information — basic technical data such as device type, app version, and in-app activity, used to keep the app working and secure.

3. How we use your data

We use your information to: create and secure your account; process wallet top-ups, payments, bills, orders, rides, deliveries, and giving; verify your identity where required; match nearby ride and delivery requests; provide customer support; prevent fraud and abuse; and meet our legal obligations. We rely on the lawful bases of consent, performance of a contract with you, legitimate interest, and legal obligation as recognised under the NDPA 2023.

4. Location data

We collect your precise location only when you use a feature that needs it — for example, when a driver goes online (to match nearby ride and delivery requests), and when you book a ride or track a package live. Location is used only to make these features work. It is never sold and never used for advertising. You can turn location access off at any time in your device settings; some features may then be unavailable.

5. Identity verification (KYC)

For certain features (such as merchant accounts, driver accounts, and higher-value transactions), Nigerian regulations require us to verify your identity. We process your NIN or BVN through secure verification infrastructure solely to confirm who you are. We do not use this information for marketing and we restrict access to it within our systems.

We share data only as needed to deliver the service, and we never sell your personal data. Recipients include:

Payment and financial partners — Paystack, Monnify, and VTpass to process payments, wallet funding, withdrawals, and bill payments.
Verified merchants and service providers — to fulfil the orders, rides, and deliveries you request.
Emergency services — only when you activate an SOS or emergency feature.
Service providers who host or operate our infrastructure under confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
Authorities — where we are required to by law or to protect the rights and safety of users.

7. How long we keep data

We keep your personal data only for as long as your account is active and as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal and financial-record obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent fraud. When you delete your account, we begin a 7-day grace period, after which your personal data is permanently deleted, except where we are legally required to retain certain records (for example, transaction records for regulatory or tax purposes). 8. How we protect your data

We use industry-standard safeguards including TLS encryption in transit and AES encryption at rest, access controls, and continuous monitoring. While no system can be guaranteed perfectly secure, we work to protect your information and to detect and respond to incidents promptly.

9. Your rights

Under the NDPA 2023, you have the right to:

Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
Delete your data and account (subject to legal retention requirements).
Withdraw consent at any time, including opting out of marketing messages.
Object to or restrict certain processing.
Data portability where applicable.
Lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).

10. Children

RC247 is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact support@redcitix.com and we will take appropriate steps.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of RC247 after an update means you accept the revised policy.
